Damned By The Pope
Those whom expose the truth are slaughte'd in groves for blasphemy
Damned by the Pope, shackled in chains awaiting their hangings
Damned by the Pope, locked in the stocks in a mockery
Inverted thy crucifix hangs, he ov thy name of heresy
Knowledge and power obtained, praising the name ov the beast
Baphomet, all hails proclaimed
Goat incarnation, black magics creator, Satan the famed
Damned by the Pope, Corum Non Iudice
Preparation for the candle lit invocation
Calling upon the unholy one for reformation
Bring forth the ending ov all conviction
By blood sacrifice ov the virgin, untouched
An inquisition to thine lord, Lucifer
A dark plague hath ensued, survive'd are none ov suffocation
Men women and children, their bodies all line the streets
Taken by the black plague, paying their penance
“O God! What has become?!
Famine sickness rape and ruin taking my loved ones
O, is this my ending? For I feel deaths presence nearing
O, my bones grow cold. Ov my life's blood I am drowning
An undignified death for a man ov the cloth”

Symphonic stuff in metal doesn’t make its way into my collection aside from a couple of early Cradle albums. The orch here though just ads to how huge this band sounds. It makes elements in the songs more immersive. There are plenty of breaks from orchestration where its in deathcore/slamming brutality mode. While not ignorant, the songs never play with time or get mathy making it accessible and memorable. Came out 2015? Impressed. Mitch Mitcherson

Very well-balanced indeed. Everything here screams talent and professionalism, from the music to the production. Technical without showing off, brutal without sacrificing musicality... This is a great record. Nekobibu
